On July 16th, I posted about marking this scrappy baby quilt.
A few days later on the 20th, I posted about marking the quilt using Crayola washable markers to trace around glasses out of the kitchen cabinets.
As soon as I finished marking the pattern, I started big-stitch quilting, and it took me until last Friday to put in the last of the quilting stitches.
All that was left was the binding, so I cut off the extra around the edges. I was in luck! The excess fabric was wide enough to turn into 2-1/2” binding strips, and there were just enough pieces to make it all the way around the quilt.
Yesterday I finished stitching the binding down by hand and—Ta-Dah!!!—took these pictures.
Today I threw it into the laundry to get the markers washed out, making this project officially finished.
Best of all, I was successful in my goal of it being a “I’m not buying anything totally scrappy project.”
Blocks, backing, batting, and thread were all leftovers from other projects.
Woo hoo!!!
